Patchwork blanket - Dahlia

Hand knitted and plant-dyed Patchwork blanket 

The Patchwork blanket is hand knitted in the lovely Bluefaced Leicester wool from Yorkshire and dyed by us with autumn Dahlias. The blanket displays varying hues that the dyeing process yields from a single batch of flowers -- from a lovely nutty brown to a soft caramel. 

Four small squares are joined together to make the Patchwork blanket into a larger square. The knitting direction of each square gives the blanket an interesting texture as it falls and stretches. Knitting and dyeing this blanket has taken approximately 150 hours. We made it because we like to.
